Natural wellbeing and herbal remedies

In short

Our natural wellbeing range brings together plant-based products for everyday use: arnica gels after a knock, throat lozenges and syrups, relaxing baths with essential oils, aloe vera care and herbal teas.

  • Every product is selected and recommended by the pharmacists at Pharmacie de Cologny, in Geneva.

Plant-based, but with a pharmacist’s advice

“Natural” does not mean “no precautions needed”. Essential oils, for example, are not suitable for everyone: they are often not recommended for young children, during pregnancy or for people with asthma or epilepsy. Some plants also interact with medicines. That is why we would rather advise you than leave you to choose on your own.

What you will find in this range

  • Knocks and muscles: Phytopharma arnica gel, Alpinamed comfrey gel, post-exercise massage balm.
  • Throat and airways: fir bud lozenges, honey lozenges, mallow syrup.
  • Relaxation and sleep: Bonne Nuit (Good Night) syrup, baths with lavender and lemon balm essential oils.
  • Skin: aloe vera gel and spray, nourishing Apricoderm care.
  • Legs: cooling gels for heavy, tired legs.
  • Herbal teas: Pure Altitude infusions and teas, most of them caffeine-free.

When should you see a doctor?

These products are designed for mild, short-lived complaints. A cough lasting more than three weeks, a high fever, severe pain after a knock (being unable to put weight on the limb, or a visible deformity) or ongoing sleep problems all warrant a medical consultation. We are happy to point you in the right direction.

Frequently asked questions

Can natural products have side effects?

Yes, they can: allergies, irritation, interactions with medicines. Essential oils call for particular care in children, pregnant women and people with asthma. Read the leaflet and ask for advice.

What should I use after a small knock or bruise?

An arnica or comfrey gel, gently massaged into unbroken skin, is often recommended. If the pain is severe, if you can no longer use the limb, or after a blow to the head, see a doctor.

Can children have throat lozenges?

It depends on the product and the child’s age: some lozenges contain menthol or essential oils, which are not recommended for young children. Check the minimum age on the pack and ask us for advice.
