Pure Altitude: the story of the brand

Pure Altitude was born in the world of Les Fermes de Marie, in Megève, where Jocelyne Sibuet created an alpine garden with a botanist specialising in mountain plants. The treatments developed for the spa gave rise, in 2009, to a cosmetics line. Its signature ingredient, edelweiss, is grown in Valais. The formulas combine high-altitude plants (arnica, gentian, bilberry, borage) with sensorial textures, designed for skin exposed to mountain cold, wind and sun.

The Pure Altitude ranges

• Make-up removal and cleansing: Mousse Micellaire aux Fleurs, Lait des Alpages with edelweiss and arnica, Huile Démaquillante cleansing oil, Eau d’Herbes.
• Hydration and nourishment: Crème Edelweiss N°1, Crème Nutrialpes, Sérum Hydra Antarctica, Crème Homme.
• Anti-ageing: Alp-Cells Repair, Crème Riche à la Rhodiola, Crème Légère au Trio Actif Alpin, Sérum Lift4810, eye contour care.
• Skin exposed to the cold: Cold Cream for the whole family, Bons Baisers de Megève lip balm, Baume des Montagnes SOS Arnica.
• Sun care: Crème Solaire SPF50 and Bol d’Air Pur SPF30, designed for the mountains.
• Body: Crème Corps Comme la Neige, Lait Corps Velours de Neige, Cristaux de Neige body scrub, shower gel and shampoo.
• Rituals and home: rose quartz or jade gua sha and massage rollers, herbal teas, bath salts, and the Fleurs de Neige candle and room fragrance.

Which Pure Altitude cream should you choose?

For normal to dry skin that feels tight in winter, Crème Edelweiss N°1 is a good place to start. Very dry skin, or skin exposed to severe cold, will appreciate the richer, more cocooning Cold Cream. For dehydrated skin that lacks comfort but dislikes rich textures, pair Sérum Hydra Antarctica with a light cream. Mature skin will benefit from the anti-ageing treatments in the range. At the counter, we are happy to let you smell and try the textures.

Our advice

• In the mountains, apply sun protection even when it is overcast: snow reflects a large proportion of UV rays.
• Sensitive or reactive skin should introduce a new product gradually, after a patch test on a small area.
• Fragranced products and those containing essential oils may not suit allergy-prone skin: read the ingredients.
• Pure Altitude travel kits are handy for a ski weekend or a trip away.
